LC Method Developer

This is the home page of LC Method Developer. LC Method Developer is a powerfull tool for developing reversed phase HPLC methods. It has a large number of advanced features:

LC Method Developer (LC MD) uses a unique chemometric approach to retention prediction. This approach gives accurate retention predictions for a ternary mobile phase system using only three experimentally determined points. It does not require any knowledge of chemometrics to use the program; a simple spreadsheet format is used for the entry of experimental data and for presentation of the predicted chromatograms. The program automatically generates color coded true critical resolution (Rs) maps.

This version of the program is supplied with five sample chemometric libraries which permit the data collected on one column to predict retention on four other columns. The program incorporates "solvent strength" computations for chromatographic systems for which a chemometric library is not available.

The program comes with extensive on-line help and an on-line tutorial. The tutorial is also supplied in rich text format which can be printed by most word processing programs. Support for the program is available over the Internet. LC MD runs under windows 3.1 and requires a 486 or better processor with at least 6 MB of memory.

The lcmd.zip file listed below is a beta version. The lcmdedu.zip file is an educational version; it does not allow entry of new compounds into its 'User Compound Library". The program zip files are rather large, if you have trouble downloading via the WWW they are also available from Adept Scientific's anonymous ftp server: ftp.adeptscience.co.uk in the ACT directory. The readme.txt file contains the instructions for installing LC Method Developer. The latest revision dates are shown in the second column. If your current version was downloaded before this date, you need to download the new version. This is beta software which you can use at your own risk in return I would appreciate you reporting all the bugs you discover. Please read the instructions for reporting bugs and look at the example report

Due to lack of financial support development has halted on this software. You are welcome to use it as is. You can download the lcmd.hlp file separately if you just want to browse through it to see how it looks. You can read the release notes to see what changes have been made in each version. This version does not have an expriation date (ignore the expires message on the startup screen).
